Geur (notities): Aromas of mint, ripe mango and dry earth form a first aromatic sequence that is both subtle and precise. Then aromas of quince jelly, blackberry jam and orange marmalade evolve.
Smaak (notities): Overflowing with exoticism (coconut, mango, passion fruit), the taste palette is in line with the nose. A true alternation of warm and refreshing sequences, chocolate chips and mint tea.
Afdronk (notities): Rich, invigorating, herbaceous (burning Havana) and peppery. Then, various infusions of red fruits and marshmallows, more and more gourmet, it invites you to also savor cranberries and raisins.

Hampden Great House - Distillery Edition - Bottled 2024 - 57.0% abv.
Hampden ligt in Trelawny, een kustgebied van de Caribische Zee in het noordwesten van Jamaica, bekend om zijn ongelooflijke biodiversiteit. Op enkele kilometers van de distilleerderij ligt Cockpit Country, een volledig bewaard gebleven natuurpark, waar maar liefst 26 soorten endemische vogels voorkomen, de grootste vlinder van het noordelijk halfrond en de laatste Jamaicaanse krokodillen. Er blijven enige twijfels bestaan over de exacte datum van de oprichting van Hampden, die tussen 1742 en 1760 ligt. In de ingang van het oude herenhuis kunnen we een inscriptie lezen: “Circa 1753”. Bij gebrek aan betrouwbaardere gegevens wordt nu aangenomen dat 1753 ook de geboortedatum van de distilleerderij is. In juli 2018, na 265 jaar activiteit, lanceerde Hampden eindelijk zijn eerste gerijpte rum op de markt!
