Hazelburn is part of the Springbank Distillery, where—under one roof—they produce Springbank, Longrow, and Hazelburn. Springbank Distillery was founded in 1828 by Archibald Mitchell, and to this day the Mitchell family still owns and operates the distillery.

The Springbank distillery produces three distinct styles of single malt:

1. Springbank – the flagship style, distilled 2.5 times.
   The malt is dried for about 6 hours over a peat fire and then for around 24 hours with warm air. The result is a lightly peated whisky with gentle smoke.
2. Longrow – named after a former distillery that once stood next to Springbank.
   Closed in 1896, its remaining warehouses now house Springbank’s bottling lines.
   Longrow malt is dried 100% over a peat fire, creating a heavily peated whisky. It undergoes a classic double distillation.
3. Hazelburn – first distilled at Springbank in 1996, named after another historic Campbeltown distillery that closed in 1925.
   Hazelburn malt is dried solely with warm air, meaning it carries virtually no peat influence. The result is a smooth, triple-distilled, unpeated Campbeltown whisky.
