This is the second time Little Brown Dog (LBD) has bottled a cask of Caol Ila, one of the most rewarding distillates in their opinion. It is suitable for so many different cask types and can even be enjoyed straight from the potstill.
LBD prefers Caol Ila fresh to preserve the subtle smoke profile, which is why the cask is bottled a few months before its 14th birthday from a refill butt.
This Caol Ila has a formidable balance, elegant Islay style, just what you want from a smoky maritime dram.
LBD couldn't quite find the right motif for the label, but they ended up with a colouring of seaweed, a crab and a small prawn made by JF, Schreiber in 1876.
