Aroma: Sweet creaminess with notes of fudge, toasted almonds, and smooth milk chocolate. Subtly nutty with a hint of warm fruit.
Taste: Creamy and mellow, with notes of toffee apple, dried mango, and caramelized sweetness. Slightly malty on the finish.
Aftertaste: Long-lasting, featuring dried fruit, spicy oak notes, and barley sugar.
This Lowland single malt is a 2020 distillate, finished in Ximénez-Spínola Oloroso sherry casks. What makes it unique is that these Oloroso casks were treated in an unconventional way: they were seasoned with sweet Pedro Ximénez grapes rather than the typical dry Palomino variety. The result is a whisky that feels far more mature than its five years would suggest. The clear bottle beautifully showcases the rich, deep amber-gold hue of the spiritn a perfect visual complement to its creamy, full-bodied character. Featuring a cream-and-red label - complete with the signature Murray McDavid lion emblem - and presented in a sturdy red gift box, this whisky is as striking to look at as it is to drink. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added coloring, at a robust cask strength of 56.1% ABV.
