Nose: Elegant and richly aged grain whisky with layers of polished oak, vanilla custard, crème brûlée and gentle coconut. Subtle hints of dried apricot, soft citrus oils, toasted cereals and old leather.

Palate: Silky and mature, opening with honeyed sweetness, buttery toffee, delicate oak spices. Notes of vanilla fudge, caramelised nuts, orange peel and light tropical undertones.

Finish: Long, warming and graceful. Gentle spices, soft wood tones, vanilla cream and lingering sweetness carry through, leaving a wonderfully smooth and mature afterglow.

This 40-year-old single Grain bottling from the North British distillery matured entirely in a refill butt sherry and impresses with balanced notes of coconut milk, rye bread, caramelised white chocolate and almonds. This time-honoured whisky is part of the Chairman's Stock series from Cadenheads. Scotland's oldest independent bottler WM Cadenhead Ltd. presents a selection of casks from the private collection of the late Chairman Hedley G. Wright with the traditional "Chairman's Stock" series. The bottlings are released in small batches in order to conserve the limited stock. The range includes single cask whiskies at cask strength, which differ in age and cask type, further emphasising the variety of flavours of the exclusive whiskies.
