Lustau Palo Cortado Peninsula 19.0% (0.75 Liter)
Type: Palo Cortado Sherry
Region: Jerez, Spain
Producer: Bodegas Emilio Lustau
Ageing: Traditional Solera and Criaderas system
Style: Dry, complex, elegant
Lustau’s Palo Cortado Península is one of the most iconic examples of this rare sherry style, combining the finesse of an Amontillado with the body and depth of an Oloroso. It ages for many years in seasoned American oak casks under the traditional solera system, developing remarkable complexity.
In the glass, it shows a deep amber–mahogany colour.
The nose is expressive and elegant, with notes of hazelnuts, almonds, dried orange peel, toasted wood, spices, and a subtle hint of vanilla and fine balsamic tones.
On the palate, it is dry, refined and silky, offering flavours of roasted nuts, caramelised citrus, dried fruits, light tobacco, cedar, and delicate oxidative notes. It balances richness and freshness beautifully, with a polished mouthfeel.
The finish is long, warm, and nutty, with lingering spice and a savoury depth typical of classic Palo Cortado.
Food Pairing:
Perfect with game dishes, charcuterie, aged cheeses, foie gras, or as a contemplative sipping sherry.
