Compass Box is ready for a new whisky release with a playful nod to the 17th century.
The Brûlée Royale is inspired by the work of a French chef who once served in the kitchens of the Palace of Versailles, where he recorded the very first recipe for crème brûlée. That recipe now forms the foundation of the flavor profile envisioned by Compass Box whiskymaker Samuel Travels.
Composition of Compass Box Brûlée Royale:
As always, the London-based whisky maker is fully transparent, and the back label of Brûlée Royale reveals the detailed recipe:
Clynelish Distillery – Second-Fill New American Oak barrel
Clynelish Distillery – First-Fill Bourbon barrel
Benrinnes Distillery – First-Fill Bourbon barrel
Speyburn Distillery – Refill American Oak hogshead
Aberlour Distillery – Recharred American Oak barrel
Ardbeg Distillery – Recharred American Oak barrel

- Palate (Rich): An enveloping wave of thick cream, malted honey, and roasted peaches, brightened by a touch of custard on a warm tarte Tatin.
- Finish: Long and warming, with a light touch of nutmeg and a final hint of toffee.
This edition is not only an extraordinary tasting experience but also a genuine collector’s item, adorned with an illustrated label celebrating Versailles, the cradle of culinary innovation.
