De Auchroisk-distilleerderij werd in 1974 gebouwd door Justerini & Brooks om een constante aanvoer van moutwhisky voor hun J&B-blend te garanderen. Het land en de bronnen, inclusief de waterbron, Dorie’s Well, werden gekocht voor £5 miljoen. Een zeer grote distilleerderij met aanzienlijke opslagfaciliteiten - genoeg om 265.000 vaten op te slaan. Oorspronkelijk onderdeel van de groep IDV, bestaande uit W A Gilbey en Justerini & Brooks, werd de groep in februari 1972 gekocht door Watney Mann en fuseerde in juli met Grand Metropolitan. Na de fusie tussen Guinness en Grand Metropolitan in 1997 is Auchroisk momenteel eigendom van Diageo. De distilleerderij is nog jong en als zodanig is het assortiment klein.
